Free covid-19 twice-weekly rapid testing for people who can’t work from home

Published: 20 June 2021

Free twice-weekly rapid Covid-19 self-testing kits are available for people without symptoms who can’t work from home and their households.

Regular asymptomatic testing is currently offered to certain groups of people, such as NHS and social care workers. These groups can continue to access their tests as they do now.

The tests are easy to use and can give results in 30 minutes. If you have a positive rapid test (lateral flow test) result you should self-isolate immediately and book a regular covid-19 test (PCR test) within 24 hours by calling 119, online or via the NHS Covid-19 app.

All tests results also need to be recorded online as soon as possible after you get the result.

This is an important step forward to allow us to move safely out of lockdown as more restrictions are gradually eased.

You can pick up a rapid testing kit from the Bowls Hall car park of the Bridgend Life Centre between 8am and 1pm, seven days a week
You must take the test yourself at home to ensure you’re not unknowingly spreading coronavirus. No appointment is needed. You can find out more informaion here

Order rapid lateral flow home test kits on GOV.UK
You can order one home testing kit (seven tests) at a time. Delivery takes one to two days. You can find out more here.
