Bridgend Unsung Heroes Awards

Befriending/Mentoring Volunteer

Recognising an individual volunteer whose dedication and voluntary efforts have made a difference to an individual/s quality of life.

Young Volunteer of the Year (under 25 Award)

Open to young people between the ages of 14 – 25 on 31 March 2022, who have volunteered within Bridgend County Borough during the past year.

Volunteer of the Year 25 and over

Open to adults over 25 who have volunteered within Bridgend County Borough during the last 12 months.

Community group/Charity of the Year

Recognising the commitment given by local volunteering groups/ projects to provide a range of services across the county borough, which has provided a real benefit to the project’s recipients and/or community.

Sports Volunteer of the Year

This award is open to individuals who volunteer in any organisation which promotes sport within the county borough.

Outstanding Volunteer

An individual volunteer whose commitment and longevity to voluntary work within the county borough has contributed to and enhanced the wellbeing of the community.

Covid 19 Volunteer

Recognising an individual volunteer whose dedication and voluntary efforts have made a huge difference to an individual/s quality of life during Covid 19.

Community Unsung Hero

To recognise informal volunteers, this could be an individual that helped their neighbour, or came forward in an emergency to help someone in their community.
