BAVO annually recognises and honours outstanding people and organisations that have made a significant contribution to our community during the past year at our Bridgend County Borough Volunteer Achievement Awards.

We are very much looking forward to this year's award ceremony to be held on Friday 8 November 2019 at the Heronston Hotel in Bridgend, when we will be recognising and honouring outstanding people and organisations that have made a significant contribution to our community.

BAVO celebrates volunteers’ hard work and achievements at awards ceremony

BAVO recognised and celebrated the great volunteering that is happening across the local area at our annual Bridgend County Borough Volunteer Achievement Awards at the Heronston Hotel in Bridgend.

Volunteers deliver services in the heart of our local communities. They make it easier for people to get the support they need and also improve other people’s wellbeing. They take on a wide range of tasks, giving their time to make their community a better place, yet often receiving little, if any recognition for their commitment and support. They make a real difference to charities and ultimately to people’s lives and BAVO were delighted to be able to recognise their hard work and achievements.

Compèred by Lee Jukes from Bridge FM Afternoon Drivetime, special guests included the Mayor of Bridgend County Borough, Cllr Stuart Baldwin and his Consort and High Sheriff of Mid Glamorgan, Tina Donnelly. Musical entertainment was provided by Garin Lang and Off Duty Bridgend Carers Choir.

Assembly Member Huw Irranca-Davies, said: “It’s always a privilege to support these awards. Volunteers who give their time and effort to support others, truly deserve recognition for the inspirational acts they do on a daily basis. A big thank you to you all as our local heroes, and stalwarts of our local communities.”

BAVO is proud and privileged to be able to host this event again this year and my thanks go to our generous sponsors Valleys to Coast, Handelsbanken, Graham Paul Accountants and United Graphic Design who have made this celebration possible.”
