Autism awareness training

People First Bridgend have been supporting people with learning disabilities and autism for over 25 years. They offer training that has been written with their members to give a unique insight into what living with different conditions might be like.

The trainer has experience in a variety of settings and is able to give a theoretical understanding in addition to many practical ideas to help the trainees leave with a better knowledge.

What will you learn over the session :

  • Help you understand what autism is;
  • Learn how autism can affect a persons day to day life;
  • Give you ideas of how to communicate more effectively with autistic people;
  • Help you understand the importance of planning and routine;
  • Give a better understanding how to support autistic people in a variety of settings.

After this workshop you will have more understanding of autism and the effects this can have on a person, you will be better equipped to support customers, workmates, people you care for or family members in daily task.
