New smoke-free laws in Wales

From 1 March 2021, these locations across Wales have become smoke-free:
- hospital grounds;
- all school grounds;
- children’s playgrounds;
- outdoor areas of childminding settings;
- outdoor areas at children’s day care settings.
Smoking in a smoke-free space could result in a £100 fine. You can read more here.
The restriction intend to:
- denormalise smoking;
- reduce the risk of young people starting smoking;
- reduce exposure to harmful second-hand smoke;
