Cardiff Capital Region Skills Partnership Workshop – Young Persons Guarantee

The Cardiff Capital Region Skills Partnership invites you to attend a virtual workshop on Wednesday 4th May at 2-3pm to discuss the Young Persons Guarantee recently launched by Welsh Government.

The Young Persons Guarantee aims to give everyone under 25 the offer of support into work, education, training, or self-employment. The guarantee was set to ensure no lost generation across Wales due to the predicted economic downturn and the huge rise in unemployment as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and Brexit.

The objective of the workshop is to:

  • Communicate the broad aims and objectives of the Young Persons Guarantee
  • Review the current provision available to young people aged under 25 and discuss if processes could be strengthened across the region to support those furthest from the labour market
  • Develop an understanding of how the current provision benefits different groups within society and what may need to change

The workshop is for voluntary organisations that work with and support young people in the Cardiff Capital Region. The Cardiff Capital Region is made up of the 10 local authority areas that cover South East Wales – Blaenau Gwent, Bridgend, Caerphilly, Cardiff, Merthyr Tydfil, Monmouthshire, Newport, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Torfaen and the Vale of Glamorgan.
