Warm Hub Grants 2025/26

The purpose of this funding is to support local communities in developing, expanding, or enhancing existing Warm Hubs. These hubs will provide welcoming, accessible, safe, and warm environments for individuals across Bridgend.

Funding can be used to:

  • Establish or re-establish community spaces.

  • Add value to existing facilities.

  • Support initiatives that promote the economic, social, and well-being of Bridgend residents.

These spaces are intended to be more than just warm places to visit. They should be inviting, inclusive, and open to all members of the community. The focus is on identifying local needs and delivering meaningful responses that meet those needs.

Fund details: The total Budget for the Warm Hubs is £69,036Groups can apply for grants of up to £4000.  Please feel free to chat to our funding advisors before submitting an application if you are unsure, they can give you helpful advice.

Providers of safe and warm places might include: ·

  • Basic refreshments and snacks (as a minimum) but may extend to provision of a more substantive meal where possible.
  • The provision of advice and support services to those who attend, this can be for example advice and support on financial matters, health and well-being or digital accessibility.
  • Further enrichment activity such as exercise, arts or cultural activity (subject to location and availability).

Acceptable Expenditure: 

  • Consumables such as provision of refreshments, snacks and if relevant to the location/need, more substantive meals.
  • Additional expenses associated with extending the opening hours of existing facilities or or rental costs
  • Contributions to heat and light, utilities and internet connection if facilities are opened specifically.
  • Additional costs relating to cleaning costs, refuse removal (for example, community halls).
  • Small items of equipment to support adaptation of spaces, chairs, tables, kettles, cups, plates etc.
  • Facilities for charging mobile phones/IT equipment.
  • Enrichment items/activities.
  • Transport to/from warm hubs – depending on local need.
  • Volunteer costs.
  • Advice and support services to those who attend e.g. financial matters, health and well-being or digital accessibility.
  • The cost of activities such as exercise classes, art classes, cultural activity, visiting speaker.
