Theo’s charity shop looking for volunteers

Published: 1 June 2021

Covid-19 has given many challenges to charity shops. When non-essential shops were allowed to re-open following the first national lockdown, Theo’s charity shop in Kenfig Hill experienced a shortage of volunteers as some decided to leave them because of age, health conditions or because they were shielding.

Margaret from Theo’s charity shop says: “Thanks to support from BAVO and the Volunteering Wales website, we were able to successfully recruit sufficient volunteers to re-opens. Volunteering is proving a lifeline for many reasons at this time and has become a more valued part of community life. We are grateful to all our Theo’s volunteers for their hard work and commitment.”

If you are interested in volunteering for Theo’s, contact Sharon at BAVO, T: 01656 810400 or E: volunteering@bavo.org.uk or visit the Wales Volunteer Website at Bridgend.volunteering-wales.net
