Our course is for anyone working in a catering, food making or selling setting where food is prepared, cooked and handled. Typical environments may include community cafés, restaurants, community groups making and/or selling food, care homes, lunch clubs, etc.

By the end of the course you will have:

  • a firm grasp of the importance of food safety and knowledge of the systems, techniques and procedures involved;
  • an understanding of how to control food safety risks (personal hygiene, food storage, cooking and handling);
  • the confidence and expertise to safely deliver quality food to service users or customers.

Please note:
You must bring identification with you to obtain the certificate. Preferably this will be photographic (e.g. passport, driving license). If you cannot provide this, we will accept a bank card (credit or debit) showing your signature. Refreshment of this qualification is recommended at least every three years.
