The Nest scheme’s new health criteria aims to support people living with an eligible health condition and on a lower income who are at a higher risk of developing illness as a result of living in a cold home.

Alongside the existing criteria for people receiving a means tested benefit, the new health criteria will also support a resident living with a chronic respiratory, circulatory or mental health condition.

Evidence of a health condition will need to be required to become eligible for the scheme, this includes a prescription, medication package, treatment plan or GP/Hospital appointment or referral letter. If a customer is found to be eligible, the evidence provided will be checked by one of Nest's assessors during the home visit.
