Bridgend County Borough Council and its partners are supporting local organisations, including churches who wish to provide provision (such as an afternoon service) to rough sleepers during the winter period.

‘The Breakfast Run’ operates between 6.30 - 9am, 365 days a year. Staff support clients by providing humanitarian aid in the form of
breakfast, hot drinks, sleeping bags, warm clothing, toiletries and linking in with further local provision. The drop-in centre (10 Park Street, Bridgend, CF31 4AX) provides a safe environment, off the street to facilitate support work. There are washing facilities and also access to a telephone and computer. Service users can access the rough sleeper drop in between 9.30am and 12noon, Monday to Friday.

Direct access provision providing a safe, dry and warm environment to sleep. Provision is available from 8pm to 8am, 365 days a year. The service will extend opening hours on bank holidays and in times of need, such as extreme weather conditions. During winter the service will provide 14 units, with capacity to increase during times of need, e.g. during extreme weather conditions. There are separate rooms for men and women. Space is allocated on a night by night basis. To access provision, individuals must present to the POBL Local
Support Hub (Unit 2, Brackla Street Centre, Bridgend, CF31 1DD) between 3 - 5pm. Actual provision will be provided at The Kerrigan Project, The Elms, Bridgend Industrial Estate, CF31 3SY. Attached to the service is an engagement officer, providing intense, practical support to rough sleepers.

A homelessness application can be made to Bridgend County Borough Council's Housing Solutions team. 24/7, 365 days a year. The council will assess housing and support needs and advise as to options, including any entitlement to temporary accommodation.
