Bridgend Foodbank relies on your goodwill and support.

Over 90% of the food distributed by foodbanks in The Trussell Trust network is donated by the public – that’s why your food donations are absolutely vital to their ability to give everyone referred to them a balanced and nutritious three day supply of food.

If you are happy to drop off food donations, please see the table below for their food collection point locations:

  • Co-operative - Lias Road, Porthcawl (near the lift)open 7am - 1pm (Mondays - Saturdays) and 10am - 4pm Sundays;
  • Sainsburys - The Derwen, Bridgend (behind the checkouts) open from 7am 10pm;
  • Tesco Extra - Cowbridge Road, Bridgend (in the foyer) open 24 hours (Mondays - Saturdays) and 10am - 4pm Sundays;
  • Tesco - Castle St, Maesteg CF34 9DS (opposite tills) open 6am - Midnight (Mondays - Saturdays) and 10am - 4pm Sundays.

They always welcome donations and promise to use them to provide help to people in crisis. Occasionally they send food to other nearby foodbanks to support their work particularly if they experience shortages.

Please make sure all donations are in date and also small packets are easier for us to distribute.

Urgently needed food items are:

  • Tinned corned beef/Spam/tuna;
  • Tinned carrots/sweetcorn/potatoes;
  • Tinned rice pudding/custard;
  • Instant mash;
  • Cereals;
  • Coffee (small);
  • Jam;
  • UHT milk or long life juice;
  • Chocolate and biscuits;
  • Crisps and snacks;
  • Toiletries - shower gel, toothpaste etc.
