WCVA, in partnership with Welsh Government, has secured funding from the European Transition Fund to establish the Empowering Communities in the Context of Brexit project.

Some of the funding obtained is going to be used to fund research into how the Brexit process could impact on the availability and delivery of third sector led community services in Wales. WCVA and Welsh Government have appointed Resources for Change to undertake this research.

The objective of the research is to help the third sector ensure any contingency planning and preparations are proportionate, as well as to act to reassure both the sector and communities that benefit from these services.

There are three themes to this work:

1. Empowered communities and community services
What effect will leaving the EU have on the availability and delivery of community services in Wales? Which community services are more vulnerable to the Brexit process? Which services best support community empowerment, resilience, cohesion and prosperity?

2. The financial stability of third sector organisations delivering these services
What impact will the withdrawal of the Structural Funds have on the sector in Wales and specifically those delivering community services?

3. The workforce of these organisations, both voluntary and paid
How reliant is the sector on EU workers? Will the sector face a skills shortage if we're unable to easily access workers and volunteers from the EU?

Grymuso Cymunedau yng Nghyd-destun Brexit

Mae CGGC, mewn partneriaeth â Llywodraeth Cymru, wedi sicrhau cyllid o’r Gronfa Bontio Ewropeaidd isefydlu prosiect o’r enw Grymuso Cymunedau yng Nghyd-destun Brexit.

Defnyddir cyfran o'r cyllid a sicrhawyd i ariannu ymchwil i effaith bosib proses Brexit ar argaeledd a darpariaeth gwasanaethau cymunedol trydydd sector yng Nghymru. Mae WCVA a Llywodraeth Cymru wedi penodi Resources for Change i gynnal yr ymchwil hon.

Amcan yr ymchwil yw helpu'r trydydd sector i sicrhau bod unrhyw gynlluniau a pharatoadau wrth gefn yn gymesur, yn ogystal â mynd ati i roi sicrwydd i'r sector a'r cymunedau sy'n elwa o'r gwasanaethau hyn.

Mae tair thema i'r gwaith hwn:

1. Grymuso cymunedau a gwasanaethau cymunedol
Pa effaith y bydd gadael yr UE yn ei chael ar wasanaethau cymunedol sydd ar gael ac a ddarperir yng Nghymru? Pa wasanaethau cymunedol sy'n fwy agored i niwed yn sgil proses Brexit? Pa wasanaethau sy'n cefnogi grym, cydnerthedd, cydlyniant a ffyniant cymunedol orau?

2. Sefydlogrwydd ariannol mudiadau trydydd sector sy'n darparu'r gwasanaethau hyn
Pa effaith y bydd diwedd y Cronfeydd Strwythurol yn ei chael ar y sector yng Nghymru ac yn benodol y rheini sy'n darparu gwasanaethau cymunedol?

3. Gweithlu gwirfoddol a chyflogedig y mudiadau hyn

Pa mor ddibynnol yw'r sector ar weithwyr o'r UE? A fydd diffyg sgiliau yn y sector os na allwn gael at weithwyr a gwirfoddolwyr o'r UE yn rhwydd?
