A Carer is someone who cares and supports someone who wouldn’t be able to manage without their help.  Unpaid Carers who look after family, friends or neighbours are not the same as paid care workers or staff employed by health, social services, voluntary or private agencies. 

The Cwm Taf Morgannwg Carers Grant is a one off grant of up to £5,000.00 purposely set up for voluntary and community organisations who are/want to work in the Bridgend, Rhondda Cynon Taf and/or Merthyr Tydfil areas and is targeted at supporting Carers of all ages.

Applications are welcomed for projects that are existing or new and can be age specific i.e. Young Carers Projects, Young Adult Carers Projects etc.    

Projects should embed good practice of:

  • Legal rights as a Carer;
  • The right to a Carer’s Needs Assessment;
  • The benefits and financial help;
  • Learning new skills to help in the caring role;
  • Balancing employment and caring and;
  • Planning for emergencies.

Projects should support Carers of all ages within the community.


What can I apply for?

Aims of the project should reflect at least one of the priorities or aims as set out in the application guidelines.
