Exploring the Impact of Brexit on BME Communities in Wales.

The Ethnic Youth Support Team, Race Council Cymru, Show Racism the Red Card and the Wales Civil Society Forum on Brexit are hosting a free event, open to organisations and community members on 16 January from 12 to 4pm at the Pierhead Building in Cardiff Bay to explore the impact that Brexit is having on BME communities in Wales. The event will also be joined by Jeremy Miles AM, Counsel General and Brexit Minister, and Jane Hutt AM, Deputy Minister and Chief Whip.

First in the run-up to 29 March 2019, but also to 31 October 2019, most attention has been focused on preparing the public and private sectors for leaving the EU, potentially without an agreement.

Too little attention is given to the lasting impact that Brexit has already had on minority communities and their organisations. Discrimination, racism, xenophobia and hate have always existed, but Brexit has acted as a catalyst, emboldening and providing a licence for these views to be acted on with deep ramifications for on social cohesion. This raises considerable health and wellbeing concerns for these, but also creating uncertainty for their rights.

A light lunch will be provided.

Deadline for bookings: 8 January 2020

Fforwm Cymdeithas Sifil Cymru ar Brexit

Chwilota Effaith Brexit ar Gymunedau BME yng Nghymru.

Mae’r Tîm Cefnogi Ieuenctid Ethnig, Race Council Cymru, Show Racism the Red Card a Fforwm Cymdeithas Sifil Cymru yn cynnal digwyddiad am ddim, sydd yn agored i sefydliadau ac aelodau o’r gymuned ar Ionawr 16 o 12:00 tan 16:00 yn adeilad Pen y Lanfa ym Mae Caerdydd er mwyn chwilota’r effaith mae Brexit yn ei gael ar gymunedau BME yng Nghymru. Rydym hefyd yn falch o groesawu Jeremy Miles AC, y Cwnsler Cyffredinol a’r Gweinidog Brexit a Jane Hutt AC, y Dirprwy Weinidog a’r Prif Chwip.

Hoeliwyd y rhan fwyaf o’r sylw hyd at Fawrth 29, 2019 ac yna Hydref 31, 2019 ar baratoi’r sectorau cyhoeddus a phreifat am adael yr UE, o bosib heb gytundeb.

Ni roddwyd digon o sylw at yr effaith barhaol mae Brexit eisoes wedi ei gael ar gymunedau lleiafrifol a’u sefydliadau. Mae camwahaniaethu, hiliaeth, estrongasedd a chasineb wedi bodoli erioed, ond mae Brexit wedi ymddwyn fe catalydd, yn hyfhau a chyfreithloni cymryd camau yn deillio o’r safbwyntiau hyn, gyda goblygiadau dwfn ar gyfer cydlyniad cymdeithasol. Mae hyn yn codi pryderon sylweddol ynglŷn ag iechyd a lles, ond mae hefyd yn creu ansicrwydd ynglŷn â’u hawliau.

Caiff cinio ysgafn ei ddarparu.

Dyddiad cau ar gyfer archebion: 8 Ionawr 2020.
