Seminar: Monday 30 September 2019 from 1-4.30pm
Birchwood House -  Birchwood Lane, Penylan , Cardiff CF23 5YB
Free of charge but ticketed

Organised between a partnership between Helpforce Cymru and the Wales School for Social Care Research.

Researchers, community members and practitioners are invited to this event, to consider the published evidence about volunteering in health and care in the light of experience, knowledge and the policy context in Wales.

In 2019, Helpforce Cymru began working with Third Sector Support Wales, Welsh Government and other partners, to develop the potential of volunteering to support health and social care services in Wales.

Helpforce will present the published findings from a commissioned literature review on volunteering in health and care- ‘Can volunteering help create better health and care?’ (May 2017) and subsequent report, ‘The role of volunteers in the NHS’ (Dec 2018), commissioned by Helpforce and RVS.

A guest panel will offer their own responses to the research evidence from their different perspectives.

There will a group discussion to identify key challenges, opportunities and priorities for research or strategic developments about volunteering and health and social care.
