Not sure what to do if someone at your child’s school tests positive for Covid-19?

If there is a case of Covid-19 in your child’s school, the NHS Wales Test, Trace, Protect service will work to trace any contacts of that individual.

Individuals who are identified as contacts will be required to self-isolate for 14 days. Siblings can continue going to school if they are not identified as a contact.

If a staff member or child from the school is not a contact of the case, they can carry on as normal and keep going to school.

Remember to look out for the key symptoms and book a test if needed:

  • a new, continuous cough 😮‍💨 (coughing a lot for more than an hour, or three or more coughing episodes in 24 hours);
  • a high temperature 🌡️ 🔥 (their chest of back feel hot to touch);
  • loss or change to taste or smell 👅 👃 (they cannot smell or taste anything, or their sense of smell or taste is different to normal).

You can book your test here or call 119.
