Membership

Membership is open to all voluntary and community organisations based in or serving the County of Bridgend.

You are eligible to join if you have adopted a governing instrument (e.g. constitution) and are:

self governing
independent of government
non profit making
non party political
able to subscribe to BAVO's requirements for membership including commitment to equal opportunities and also run by an unpaid committee acting for the benefit of your community.

BAVO has two categories of membership

Full Membership
Associate Membership

Full membership is open to all locally based community and voluntary groups. Associate membership is open to community and voluntary groups that are not based in the County but whose services are offered in Bridgend County and other Counties.

Membership applications are considered at each Executive Committee meeting and there is completely free of charge. Download a Membership Application Form.

Benefits of Membership?

BAVO can help your group through:

Funding advice
Practical Services, e.g. printing, equipment loan
Information including our newsletter and information sheets
Networks of voluntary organisations with similar interests
Joint working with statutory and other agencies
Development, e.g. charity and charitable company registration, constitutions, policies

Most of our services to members are free. Other practical services, are charged at subsidized minimal rates

Practical services offered include:

Equipment loan (presentation equipment on-site loans); such as Overhead projector; Overhead screens; Display boards; Flipchart easel (refundable deposit may be required)
Room hire - BAVO has a community room available for use by member organisations at a cost of £10 per session (am/pm/evening). The self-contained room is situated on the ground floor of the building and can comfortably seat 12 people. Equipment can also be booked with use of the room. For further information and to check its availability, please contact Pat Lindsay.

New Networking Opportunity - After having spoken with many of you about using different methods to engage you in debate we have decided to add a Forum section to the website.
