Bridgend Coalition of Disabled People

The Bridgend County Borough Health and Social Care Disability Strategy for Adults with Physical and Sensory Needs 2005-2008 was launched on January 17th 2006. The action plan that drives the strategy forward identifies the development of a countywide Disability Coalition as a key priority.

BAVO supports the development of the Coalition, which will provide independent advocacy and support to people with a disability.

Voluntary organisations and individuals are encouraged to engage in the development of the Coalition which aims to promote the equality, rights, and choice in every aspect of life for disabled people living in Bridgend County Borough.

BAVO is supporting the coalition to develop a constitution, business plan and secure resources to provide an independent advocacy support to allow opportunities to influence the shape, delivery and standards of local service provision.

The Coalition is seeking individuals and members of other disability organisations to become part of the Coalition to promote the involvement and empowerment of disabled people and to become the voice of all Disabled People living within Bridgend County Borough. The Coalition needs YOU to ensure an equal representation of the diverse population of Disabled People in order to achieve this aim.

If you are interested or know of anyone who has an interest in the Coalition or you would like further information please contact:
