Bridgend Association of Voluntary Organisations

BAVO's networks and forums offer local groups an opportunity to meet with other organisations, to share ideas and concerns, to develop interagency partnerships and to agree voluntary sector standpoints to take forward into consultation with statutory and other bodies.

BAVO supports the following networks and forums:

Ageing Well Network

The Ageing Well Network has been created to provide voluntary organisations, whom provide a service to older people (this can include providing information, advice, support groups etc.), in Bridgend County with the opportunity to have a voice and a greater involvement in partnership working.

The aims of the Ageing Well Network is to:

  • Promotion of awareness and understanding of issues relating to people over the age of 50 years and ensure these are communicated between the voluntary sector, statutory sector and general public.  
  • Improve networking and co-operation between local voluntary organisations and to share best practice.
  • Highlight and share gaps in service and funding issues.
  • Maintain positive links with the Never 2 Old Action Team and the Health, Social Care and Wellbeing Partnership.

The next meeting of the Ageing Well Network will be on Friday 21st May 2010 at the BAVO offices Maesteg 10am - 12noon
